Zimbabwe Ambassador To Australia meets Zim Community

Her Excellency, Ambassador Jacqueline Zwambila met with the Zimbabwean community in Sydney on Saturday, 20th March, 2010. This was a ground breaking meeting as the community has vague memories of meeting their country's ambassador.  The ZIMA chairman, Mr Albert Mukando posed several questions in his opening address. The ZIMAID Treasurer, Elizabeth Kachembere in her speech highlighted some of the problems faced by ZimAid when containers of donated clothes reach Zimbabwe border posts. Her Excellency did a great job in alleviating everyone's fears. She sincerely informed the anxious crowd that she was in the Embassy on behalf of the country and was the servant of the people. Her responses to questions went down well as she took the bull by the horns to admit that things hadn't been well at home in the previous years but the Unity government had brought in hope to the suffering and weary population. Without stating the obvious, she is a breath of fresh air. ZimAid is looking to inviting Her Execellency to meet some of its donors and at officiating at its Annual Fundraising Dinner 2010.
